The features of the SD780ISare as technologically advanced as any camera in it's class.I had used hi tech digital cameras before, including the dmc-zs3, so with a little effort on my part, I was able to master them quite quickly!

Included is a mode selection button that gives users the opportunity to pick either (full) Auto, manual, or video. Being kind of technically challenged, I selected auto, which pretty much leaves everything up to the Canon SD780is.

I simply point the camera and take the shot. I never have to worry if I need the flash, as this baby takes care of that, in addition to ISO setting, apeture setting, and shutter speed depending on the conditions.

Now if you are a bit more of a camera "bug",the manual mode on the Canon SD780IS gives you the opportunity to select shutter speed, ISO, flash/no flash, etc. You can also use one of the 18 preset camera modes, and pick which recorded image size you prefer to use (small, medium, large, fine, and normal). Very cool.

The video mode is very useful and fun to play around with.
Typically, you have to put up with the inability to control video capturing. Users can't adjust to brightness, apeture, etc. This is pretty typical of many cameras, so get used to accepting your video conditions as is.

I have taken quite a few still pictures and they were outstanding. I wanted to experiment with different scenes, such as daytime outdoor scenes, indoor pictures, night scenes, dark conditions, and fast moving action pictures.

My action pictures were better than expected, as I was under the impression that the Canon SD780IS is not a camera designed for taking fast moving pictures.

I fooled around with the ISO settings, and the lower ISOs (80-200) were real good and the higher settings naturally produced grain. Only 1600 and above were kind of unacceptable by my standards. In low light conditions, the SD780IS did a great job focusing on the subject and took low light pictures quite well.

The SD780IS has got to be the easiest camera on Earth to use! Basically, if you are so inclined, all you do is point and shoot. The technology is so advanced that the camera does the "thinking" for you.
Frankly, Ihave waited a L-o-o-o-n-g time for the Canon SD780IS
