I admit to being on pins and needles when Canon announced the arrival of the sd780is. The planned launch was set for early Spring, 2009. I poured through the specs, and was positively drooling over the cool features!
After looking around, I got the best deal from Amazon.com, so I eagerly bought my sd780is online!
The engineers over at Canon must have sent the sd780is to Weight Watchers, as it has an ultra tiny body. VERY handy and portable! The SD780IS is the newest of the so called "ELPH" digitals, pronounced just like the little people we all know and love. Clever how the marketing arm over at Canon is always looking for a catchy name for it's cameras.

You have your choice of four colors, black, silver, gold and ruby red. The sd780is features a 12.1 MP digital camera and a 2.5 inch LCD coupled with a 3x optical image stabilized zoom. Let me tell you again, this dude is as sleek as they come with a width of only 0.7 inches.
Togteher with a width and height of just 3.4 and 2.1 inches and tipping the scales at 4.2 ounces, it is certainly a contender in the featherweight class!
Let me give you a brief overview of what this hi-tech baby brings to the table. Let's start with HD movie shooting capability and HDMI output. With it, you are able to record professional quality video in gorgeous high definition (1280 x 720 pixels).

Lastly. it is possible to manually find any red eyes in a picture during image playback on the LCD screen. You can then use the camera to get rid of them.
